Animal nutrition
A balanced diet plays an important part in maintaining your pet’s health and vitality, just as it does for humans. Our animal’s nutritional requirements are different from our own, what is good for us is not necessarily good for our pets.
The type of food required will vary, dependent upon the species of pet, its breed, size, age, activity level and any (special) requirements i.e. pregnancy or illnesses (such as diabetes, kidney disease, food intolerance etc).
Feeding the correct amount of an appropriate, well balanced diet is vital for the good health of our pets.
Obesity is becoming an increasing problem in our pets, and with it comes a whole range of health-related problems, just as it does in humans. Making sure that your pet either maintains, or is brought back to a satisfactory weight is extremely important for their overall health.
Choosing the right diet
There are a huge range of diets available for pets, at Willows we have extensive experience in ensuring that the diet developed for your pet is appropriate to their individual nutritional needs. Our General Practice Vets will be happy to discuss dietary advice with you and provide guidance on our pet’s nutritional needs
