It can also be used in conjunction with surgery and\/or radiation treatment, and has proven helpful in the treatment of several different types of cancer in dogs and cats.\n<br><br>\nChemotherapy aims to prolong the life if a pet, and more importantly to maintain a good quality of life for whilst undergoing treatment for cancer. Similar drugs to those used in human oncology are given to animals, however the high doses used in human patients are not generally administered to pets.
