Restoration & Maintenance

Dry ice blast cleaning is a particularly useful tool for the restoration of old properties as well as properties and equipment damaged by flood or fire. The application of non aggressive dry ice cleaning to old stonework and wood work can bring back the fresh look of the original at the same time as removing years of dust, dirt, algae and grime. However, extreme care must be taken as old structures often have hidden areas of damage or rot that dry ice will quickly find and make more prominent. It is therefore vital that restoration work is always carried out with extreme care or better still by an experienced professional.

Dry ice can be used effectively on fire and flood damage to all types of items that will not be damaged by the dry ice blast itself. It will remove smoke or caked silt from intricate shapes in a very short time and bring the item back to a new looking condition. Extreme care must be taken with any soft materials starting from plaster, soft wood and delicate fabric covered items.

Dry ice technology has advanced in recent years and some of the softer materials can now be successfully restored with specialist low pressure dry ice equipment using very fine ice particles. All of our equipment can be successfully used for most restoration work, but in particular cases we will refer you to other equipment more suited to specific tasks. Such recommendations will be made free of charge in return for the opportunity to supply your dry ice requirements.

Maintenance

Maintenance cleaning of automated production equipment has in the past often been neglected as the cost of lost production time for effective cleaning has not been sanctioned leaving production staff to use a quick but often ineffective cleaning regime. When dry ice first looked to be a possible solution to this problem it was initially ruled out as it was much more expensive than the current, but nevertheless ineffective, cleaning process.

Today it is more common to balance the cost of dry ice cleaning directly against the value of the production time saved and because the process is quicker and better than conventional cleaning the additional expenditure is more than repaid by higher productivity, better product cleanliness, and less downtime for stoppages created by product build up.
