In the research field it is hard to find all the exact uses for dry ice. Keeping things cold, cooling them and transport is the starting point, all of which can add up to ground breaking results.
The UK has a very strong Biomedical Industry and we are proud to support many of them with supplies of our dry ice.
Our major customers in this field use our dry ice to distribute imported vaccines nationwide, to send specialist wound closure systems to hospital theatres and to advance the drug discovery and development process.
We all now know that some of the Covid-19 Vaccines currently in development will require to be transported and stored at -70 deg C, making dry ice with a surface temperature of -78.6 deg C the ideal choice for protecting them prior to use. We have already put our name forward to participate in the supply of dry ice to what we expect to be a National joint effort should a vaccine of this type be chosen for UK distribution. We plan to do this by adding new production shifts for our high capacity machines so that supplies to our existing loyal customers are not affected.
